Holden’s “Success Intelligence” offers great advice on ethics in business
By Lauren | May 28, 2008
Imagine my pleasure when Hay House Publishers invited me to review the latest book written by Robert Holden titled, Success Intelligence. The book offers readers a wealth of advice on how to increase their capacity for success in work, relationships, and life.
The aspect of the book that spoke most to me was Holden’s advice not to put money first as a measure of success. Holden argues that the key to success is to commit to a purpose, then let the money follow. That’s not only a good idea for professional satisfaction, it’s great advice for anyone who wants to practice good business ethics.
If you look at nearly all of the major business scandals that have made the news, you’ll find greed for money at the core. Most recently, investment banks’ eagerness to rake in unreasonable profits led to the subprime mortgage debacle that’s still rocking the world’s economies. If those bankers had committed to careful stewardship of their banks’ assets instead of pushing to make a quick buck, they could still have made a lot of money, and we all might be better off today.
So, if you’re looking for sound advice on how to succeed in an ethical way, take a look at Success Intelligence. Holden demonstrates that ethical success is not only possible, it’s the most intelligent way to go.
