How would you like to get an iPology?

By Lauren | July 7, 2010

Okay, now I’ve seen it all. It seems that a company called High Heels Productions has launched a new IPad app called iPology.app, an app that lets users generate semi-customized apologies based on what they did wrong and to whom they did it. The iPology offers both sincere and sarcastic “iPologies,” and allows them to be delivered by a professionally recorded MP3, tex message or e-mail.

This app is hilarious! However, it may not be the best medium for people who really want their apologies to succeed.

The trouble with artificially-generated apologies is that they come off as, well, artificial. It will quickly become apparent to anyone receiving an iPology that the author just clicked a couple of buttons and let the app do all the rest. IPologies will probably be more than sufficient to make up for minor gaffes. However, sending an iPology after a serious mistake (”so sorry I ran off with the company’s money - I’ll never do that again!”) probably just adds insult to injury.
